Bumblebee Decisions: Getting Started

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Describe the basic tenets of signal detection theory, including:
    • explaining the signifcance of overlapping signals
    • listing the three types of signal parameters
  • Briefly explain the gist of the "utility function."
  • Define "generalization."
  • Describe the "peak shift."
  • Give examples of the above terms from current research on bumblebee foraging.
