Fighting Walnut Flies: Sequential Assessment

First of three scenarios (animated)

You are looking at an unoccupied walnut. Another fly comes into view. Should you fight the fly, or withdraw?

Cost of fighting: -45 units (win or lose)
Gain if win (walnut): 100 units
Cost of withdrawing: 0 units

The game consists of 10 encounters between you and another fly. For each encounter you can choose either "fight" or "withdraw." Your strategy can be all fight, all withdraw, or a combination. After 10 tries, your costs and benefits will be reported.

Or use the version of this scenario without animation.

NOTE: In the animation YOU are the fly on the LEFT.
Begin by clicking the "begin" button.

When you are done with this scenario, go on to scenario two.
