Fighting Walnut Flies: Sequential Assessment Second of three scenarios (no animation) In the previous scenario, you learned that it is always better to fight than to withdraw. But after 10 draining fights, you can only gain a maximum net of 50 units. How much better it would be if you had some idea in advance whether you were likely to win the fight or not! Then you could choose to fight only in cases where you had a good chance of winning. In this second scenario you sometimes have a bit more info. The costs and benefits are the same: a cost of 45 for fighting, and a gain of 100 if you win the walnut. There is also a version of this page with animation. To begin the game: type "g" for go, then decide whether to "fight" or "withdraw." |
