Let's summarize what's been covered:

Similarities between the runaway and chase-away forms of sexual selection:

  • both result in evolution of extreme ornaments and displays in males
  • in both, the male ornament does not (necessarily) have any connection to fitness

How chase-away differs from runaway:

  • chase-away is characterized by exploitation and conflict between sexes instead of cooperation and mutual benefit
  • chase-away features the evolution of female resistance, vs evolution of female preference, for the male display trait
  • in chase-away, female fitness and male fitness are opposed to each other.

End of chase-away sexual selection module.
