Application Procedures

Opportunities to conduct collection-based research are available to upper division UA undergraduates in good standing who have taken ECOL 181/182 or other appropriate courses. Applicants need not have a specific research project in mind, but should express interest in a taxonomic group and/or type of research question. Interested students should discuss their application with an appropriate curator or faculty member (see Participating Collections and Faculty), and/or the director, Dr. Philip Hastings.

Applications may be submitted at any time and should include the following.

A statement detailing educational and career goals

Relevant experience

A list all relevant courses taken (including instructor and grades received)

Names, addresses and phone numbers of two references (one of whom may be the faculty member with whom you wish to work)

An indication of interest in conducting the project for course credit or for a stipend (include the source of any funding that might currently be available)
