If you do not own binoculars, please consider putting them on your wish list. While we do not require you to buy your own, you will need them throughout the course and if you do not have a pair, you'll have to find some to borrow. Check out eagle optics for some options--they have very helpful salespeople when you phone them (http://www.eagleoptics.com/). I recommend 8x42 for general birding. Pentax DCF HR II 8x42 are excellent value. The Audubon Store, 300 E. University Ave., will give class members a 10% discount on all optics (binoculars or scopes)
