Meet the staff!

Katrina Mangin and Dave Gori co-teach Galapagos Marine Ecology. Katrina and Dave created the course in 2003 in partnership with high school biology teacher Tom Lutz; they've taught the course as a team from 2003-2010. Katrina teaches marine biology at the University of Arizona (UA) in Tucson, AZ. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the UA, based on research done in the Sea of Cortez on the ecological effects of an invasive species of hydroid.. She has taught numerous courses for both undergraduates and teachers at the University of Arizona since 1995.

Dave Gori also got his PhD from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the UA, studying sexual selection in blackbirds. Dave is the Head of Science at The Nature Conservancy in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is an expert on the birds and plants of the Galapagos. Together Dave and Katrina share their expertise on the marine and terrestrial ecology and evolution of the Galapagos, and on the fascinating and challenging social and conservation issues at play there.

We hope you can join us!
