Rafting on the Grand Canyon!

1999

In July 1999 we realized a long-time dream with a 12-day raft trip on the Grand Canyon. The trip was run by High Desert Adventures, and had four rafts, each with a guide who did most of the rowing and four or five passengers. Photos by Bill or Susan Birky unless otherwise acknowledged.

The trip was 188 miles from Lee's Ferry to Whitmore Wash. This satellite photo from NASA shows the canyon from mile 0 at Lee's Ferry to about mile 165.
