ECOL 182 (Spring) Intoductory Biology - Lecture 5 - comment and summary

Today we discussed the factors that limit plant growth in terms of 'how tall a tree can grow' - focusing on the different components of plant water potential.

I'm posting here the link to a pdf of the Nature paper that describes the experiment (in case you need to read the story for itself) and a 'News and Views' comment from the Nature editors. Nature papers are supposed to be written in such a light as to communicate to a broad audience - therefore you shouldn't have a problem with most of the text. These two may help you to understand the context of the material a little better.
