I study preadaption of noncoding sequence in Saccharomyces and how preadaptation may contribute to de novo origination of protein-coding genes, with the evolutionary process initiated by an intrinsic tendency toward bidirectional transcription from adjacent ORFs.
I just finished my Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. My other research interests include the development of computational and statistical methods for studying genetics, the role of robustness in complex diseases, and the molecular basis for adaptation.
