I am investigating the primary source of intracellular noise underlying transcriptional bursting. In particular, I study whether transcription factor binding and unbinding might be so fast that it can be approximated as a probability cloud. In this case, observed transcriptional bursting may be driven by events at the chromatin level. I am working on algorithms that capture stochasticity appropriately as part of a larger project on simulating the evolution of transcriptional regulatory networks.
