People in the Venable Lab

Jennifer Gremer is a postdoc studying the ecology and physiology of Sonoran Desert winter annuals.

Kathy Gerst is a graduate student studying selfing and outcrossing mating systems in desert annuals.

Eugenio Larios is a graduate student broadly interested in life history evolution, plant population and reproductive ecology. His dissertation work focuses on the evolution of seed size. He is measuring natural selection for seed size in the wild in the desert annual plant, Dithyrea californica and trying to test that temporal variation in water availability and density dependence through seedling competition interact and have a strong effect on natural selection on seed size given that the two selective forces are not statistically independent of each other.

Sara Felker is a graduate student.

Jonathan Horst is the lab's research specialist and graduate student.

Ursula Basinger is the lab's research technician.
