RESEARCH INTERESTS

Broadly, I am interested in the evolution of phenotypic diversity in natural populations, particularly in relation to social behavior and to the process of speciation. My dissertation research focused on evolutionary and ecological relationships among four congeneric species of fruit bats in Southeast Asia. In my first post doc I used a combination of experimental, empirical and comparative approaches to study molecular and neural mechanisms of sociality and communication in New World rodents. Currently, I am exploring the genetic architecture of reproductive isolation in house mice, with a focus on the contribution of autosomal and mitochondrial loci.
