Confuciusornis fossils

Note the impressions of two long tail feathers of the left (upper) specimen. Also note the lack of a tail, and the long claws on both front and rear appendages. The darker smudges around each are thought to be both the decayed remains of soft tissues and/or feathers. Note the dark impressions on the left individual show clear wing-like shapes.
